The 2014 Conference and AGM was held in the United States' capital city – Washington DC. The conference theme was “Innovation in Insolvency Regulation”. The confernce was held in the World Bank Group premises.

The conference was hosted by the Executive Committee of IAIR in association with the World Bank.
The main conference took place in room MC 13-121 which is set up with an integrated AV system and a number of wall screens around the room.
The drinks reception will be held in Private Dining Room ABC.

In seeking a recommended hotel the Executive Committee tried to provide a hotel that was:
- in relative close proximity (walking distance) to the World Bank venue
- likely to be achieved within the usual government approved rates
- provided the standard and quality of hotel that IAIR members have become accustomed to

The Melrose Georgetown Hotel is a AAA 4-star boutique hotel in Washington, DC offering remarkable accommodations and amenities. Sharing a Pennsylvania Avenue address with the White House, the hotel offers a prestigious setting just steps from Georgetown and the Foggy Bottom Metro station and convenient to top attractions such as the National Mall, George Washington University, the Kennedy Center, Smithsonian museums, and the Potomac Riverfront.
It offers luxurious guest rooms and suites with black granite bathrooms and a huge selection of contemporary amenities, including high-speed Internet access, a modern fitness center and business center, meeting space for events and handcrafted cocktails at The Lounge.
The Hotel held a number of rooms for us at this special rate – until 6 weeks before the conference.
Members were responsible for booking their own hotel rooms directly with the hotel and to secure the negotiated conference rates they quoted “1409IAIRAN”. For delegates arriving before or staying after the conference the Melrose charged the conference room rate for their entire stay.
