Office of the Supervisor of Insolvency - Barbados

The primary role of the Office of the Supervisor of Insolvency is to protect the integrity of Barbados' insolvency system. As Supervisor of Insolvency, I am responsible inter alia for supervising the administration of all bankrupt or insolvent estates pursuant to Section 161(2) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Chapter 303 of the Laws of Barbados ("the Act). My duties include licensing, regulating and overseeing the conduct of trustees/receivers, examining and/or auditing trustees' accounts, receipts, disbursements and final statements and monitoring the compliance of debtors and creditors with the provisions of the Act maintaining a public register of all receiverships, bankruptcy and proposal filings under the Act.documents pursuant to the Act; and where necessary, investigating complaints against trustees, debtors and creditors.
