Miranda Killam

Miranda Killam became Deputy Superintendent, Regulatory Policy and Public Affairs, at the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB), an organization within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), in May 2023. The OSB carries out its regulatory, administrative, and supervisory duties at arm's length from the Government of Canada. Miranda is responsible for regulations and directives pursuant to Canadian insolvency legislation, the establishment of national policies, communications and outreach, training, licensing, and litigation matters – and is currently leading a complex regulatory amendment project.

She previously had a four-year stint in the Corporate Management Sector at ISED where she gained experience in corporate planning, reporting and risk management. From April 2022 to May 2023, she led the policy planning and implementation of the Department’s transition to a hybrid work model in her role as Director of the Future of Work Office. Prior to that, Miranda worked at the Competition Bureau Canada and co-led a workshop that examined the emerging competition issues in the financial technology sector. Miranda earned her civil and common law degrees from the University of Ottawa and spent the first eight years of her public service career at the OSB where she gained extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency policy and regulations.

Miranda is a fitness enthusiast (former university varsity basketball athlete) and volunteers her time coaching basketball and soccer. She is married and has three children.
