Azwarnida Affandi - Deputy Director General of Insolvency, The Malaysian Department of Insolvency
Azwarnida binti Affandi obtained her LLB (Hons) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 1995. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1996.In 1997, she embarked on her legal career serving both the judicial and legal services in various areas of law. She has held numerous positions namely as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Federal Counsel at the Marine Department of Malaysia and Federal Counsel at the Advisory Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers.
In 2003 until 2020, her services were sought in the judiciary where she served as a Senior Assistant Registrar (Bankruptcy Division) at the Kuala Lumpur High Court, Deputy Registrar at the Chief Registrar’s Office, Deputy Registrar (Civil Division) at the Kuala Lumpur High Court and Deputy Registrar (Administration) at the Shah Alam High Court. Subsequently, she was appointed as a Sessions Court Judge and served at the Ampang Sessions Court, Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court and Petaling Jaya Sessions Court. In 2020 she returned to the Attorney General’s Chambers and served as the Chairman for the Strata Management and Housing Tribunal in Putrajaya and the Chairman for the Industrial Court of Malaysia. She is currently the Deputy Director General of the Malaysian Department of Insolvency. Her present portfolio includes overseeing operational matters of the department’s 21 branches in the country.
