Inese Šteina - Director of the Insolvency Control Service of Latvia

Inese Šteina is the director of the Insolvency Control Service of Latvia (hereafter – ICS). In 2017 Mrs. Šteina was appointed as the director of ICS where she implemented significant reforms in the insolvency sector. These reforms include implementation of a risk-based supervision system, establishment of reform of the profession of insolvency practitioners and digitalization of insolvency proceedings in Latvia by implementation of the Electronic Insolvency Accounting System.  Mrs. Šteina holds a master's degree in economics and she has a 15-year experience in leading a supervisory institution both in the field of insolvency and European Union funds. Mrs. Šteina's strengths are fraud detection as well the engineering and implementation of audit and control systems.
