John is Managing Partner, Wellington and is a member of the firm's Executive Leadership Team.

As a Chartered Accountant, John leads the National Restructuring practice providing advice on a broad range of insolvency restructuring and monitoring assignments both in New Zealand and previously in the United Kingdom.  John has more than 25 years’ experience specialising in business recovery services, working with banks, government, creditors and directors dealing with difficult business issues to get the best possible results.

John has acted as receiver to a number of high profile and complex appointments including Pike River Coal Limited, Lombard Finance & Investments Limited, Strategic Finance Limited and Ross Asset Management.  He has been selected receiver to numerous companies and is regularly appointed by the High Court as a liquidator.

He’s regularly asked by financial institutions to carry out business appraisals on borrowers where concerns have been raised about financial viability, available security or where additional funding has been requested.  He also assists with restructuring and turnaround advice to companies facing cash flow and viability issues.   John works with all sizes of business from SME’s to multi nationals with the ability to adapt the scope of work to suit most circumstances.
