Marina Vatanen - Senior Bankruptcy Lawyer, Office of the Bankruptcy Ombudsman, Finland

Marina holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration. She has over 25 years of work experience from the private and public sector as well as from international co-operation.

For the past 18 years Marina has worked as a Senior Bankruptcy Lawyer in the Office of the Bankruptcy Ombudsman in Finland and has been in charge of supervising over 7 000 corporate and personal bankruptcy (liquidation) proceedings as well over 3 000 company reorganizations, the proceedings ranging from the liquidation and reorganization of micro enterprises to listed companies. Marina is especially passionate about turnaround management and restructuring workouts for SMEs and has been actively involved in implementing the Restructuring Directive (EU) 2019/1023 into Finnish legislation.
